“Timing is everything,” ends the last post. How true that statement is.

Yet my experience tells me timing is not random or capricious. It is often a function of our ability to pay enough attention to see clearly as events are signaled or unfolding.

A spiritual teacher once told me to “watch for what wants to happen.” The emphasis here is on watching. Her contention was that if we were sufficiently attentive we would be able to sense the flow of events. Then in anticipation, we would be able to act accordingly.

This suggests that serendipity, or fate, or circumstance need not catch us unaware.

Said an exceptionally successful older woman, “Watch for the open doors. Trust them and go through them. If they don’t open, move on to another.”
